San Francisco 49ers
Trey Lance
Trey Lance finished the day 14/17 passing in my book. Had a spike that I didn’t count, as well as an incompletion after a sack that I didn’t count. Great bounce-back after Sunday’s performance.
https://twitter.com/RohanChakrav/status/1557084087315156997
While Trey Lance was accurate today, don’t forget about his legs. During a 2-minute drill, Lance had a 30-yard rush, zone-read keeper, 8-yard rush, and a 5-yard rush to start the drive. Dual-threat quarterback.
https://twitter.com/RohanChakrav/status/1557082826771558400
Trey Lance has opened 5-of-7 today. His passes have been much more crisp and accurate than during Sunday’s bad practice. Lance showed off a notably quick release on a red-zone TD to Deebo that looked a lot like the 2019 Week 3 game winner from Garoppolo to Pettis

Jacksonville Jaguars
Trevor Lawrence
“During the spring, Lawrence looked like a quarterback who was relying less on his physical tools than the year before, with the mental and cerebral part of his game catching up to his rare physical talent. That is exactly what we have seen from Lawrence so far in training camp.”
https://twitter.com/DannyBKelly/status/1557030016579358720
Detroit Lions
Jared Goff
“This may have been Goff’s best day at camp. His deep ball was absolutely on point all day. He had at least 3 completions of 30 air yards or more during team drills. He connected with Chark & ARSB a couple times on deep shots, often requiring perfect placement in tight coverage.”
https://twitter.com/32BeatWriters/status/1557077183734206465
Philadelphia Eagles
AJ Brown
“If Eagles training camp is any indication, A.J. Brown is going to get eleventy billion targets this season. Over the last five or so practices, if Brown has been on the field and it’s a pass play, you could reliably count on Jalen Hurts going his way….
https://twitter.com/32BeatWriters/status/1557055993749577732
I suppose Brown’s heavy target share recently in practice is partly due to the absence of Smith, who has missed the last four practices”
https://twitter.com/32BeatWriters/status/1557055995867701255
New Orleans Saints
Michael Thomas
Probably shouldn’t be a surprise, but Mike Thomas is starting to get a very high percentage of targets at Saints camp.
https://twitter.com/nick_underhill/status/1557057930603683840
Saints WR Michael Thomas had a very productive practice Tuesday, targeted often by both Andy Dalton and Ian Book in 7-on-7 and full-team drills and catching all of ‘em.

Los Angeles Rams
Matthew Stafford
Matthew Stafford is throwing in 11 on 11, something Sean McVay said he didn’t expect while the Rams were still in Irvine
https://twitter.com/sarahbarshop/status/1557100090669420544
Cam Akers
Cam Akers has been impressive. Definitely the lead back.
https://twitter.com/GManzano24/status/1557102932574711808
Los Angeles Rams
Tyler Higbee
Stafford with a pretty pass to Higbee in team drills. Higbee has had a strong camp.

New York Jets
Offensive line a mess today. Wilson sacked on four of his first five dropbacks. Not good.
https://twitter.com/RichCimini/status/1557022457332121600
Make that five sacks in six dropbacks, including four in a row. Not all OL fault. Wilson held too long on the last one.
https://twitter.com/RichCimini/status/1557022854444613633
Houston Texans
Davis Mills
- Texans Davis Mills had his worst practice so far. Went 9-17, had a TD in the goal line to Andy though
- But efficiency wasn’t there beyond short throws. Something to watch.
- When he threw into the intermediate range his accuracy fell off. WRs didn’t help him though – a couple drops.

Quick hitters
San Francisco 49ers
- Jeff Wilson Jr had a few great runs
- Trey Lance showed his speed on a few runs and on one, Deebo Samuel had a great block on Deommodore Lenoir that opened up path for the QB
https://twitter.com/jenniferleechan/status/1557087591043805184
Shanahan says the first-team 49ers offense will play this Friday against the Packers. The plan is for Trey Lance to play in Games 1 and 3 of the preseason
https://twitter.com/LombardiHimself/status/1557040164609806336
The 49ers released their first *unofficial* depth chart of the 2022 season.
https://twitter.com/Rob_Lowder/status/1557025085982064640
New York Jets
- On the day that Becton is declared most likely out for the season, O-line allowed 8 sacks w/ Wilson at QB — 8 sacks in 22 dropbacks. Rough day.
- Wilson actually did a decent job when he had time (8-for-12). He’s had a few good days in a row.
https://twitter.com/RichCimini/status/1557073554935521280
I had Zach Wilson sacked eight times today, by the way. Yikes.

Baltimore Ravens
The highlight of the practice was a 20-yard touchdown pass from Lamar Jackson to Rashod Bateman in a red zone period. Bateman caught it just beyond the reach of Kyle Fuller.
https://twitter.com/bsmolka/status/1557092792576495616
But in a later period, Jackson went 0-for-3. Bateman dropped a throw slightly off target, and then Jackson misfired to Isaiah Likely before an incompletion to Bateman that Fuller nearly jumped
https://twitter.com/bsmolka/status/1557093219338489864
Ravens just wrapped up practice. Wasn’t a full speed practice for most of it. Highlight play was Bateman 20-yd TD catch from Jackson who made a pretty throw right over Fuller’s helmet. Otherwise, a mostly sluggish performance by offense.

Pittsburgh Steelers
Offense decisively wins 7 shots 5-2, including a nice fade from Trubisky to Claypool in the back of the end zone for a TD. Offense celebrated by throwing the ball into the air and skeet shooting it — a signature celebration of the defense.
- Trubisky 3/4
- Pickett 1/2
- Rudolph 1/1

Rookies
Pittsburgh Steelers
Kenny Pickett
The Kenny Pickett experience:
- Took second team reps and had a TD in 7 shots
- Threw a pick in team period
- Lined up wrong on the next play
Stuff like this happens, doesn’t mean he’s not ready for preseason action, just a typical rookie rollercoaster.

Carolina Panthers
Matt Corral
Matt Corral is uncorking some very nice bombs in one on ones.
https://twitter.com/josephperson/status/1557031321398087684
McAdoo says Matt Corral is “slowly and quietly improving. He has a unique skill set. He has some juice to him, personality-wise.”
https://twitter.com/daringantt/status/1557007394621759488
Kansas City Chiefs
Isiah Pacheco
“The thing that’s guaranteed is that he’s going to run hard. Will he have to learn the certain schemes, how they work against defenses and to at times be patient? He’ll learn that. But, he’s going to run hard and he can catch the football.” – coach Reid on Isiah Pacheco
https://twitter.com/KCChiefs_Matt/status/1555957476109033472
“Perhaps Reid’s highest endorsement of Pacheco occurred Sunday. Pacheco was on the field next to Patrick Mahomes for several of the reps during the long-drive team period, which featured 16 consecutive plays.”
https://twitter.com/Underdog__NFL/status/1556687701260337156
New England Patriots
Pierre Strong
“Pierre Strong made a move up the depth chart, getting the nod over third-year pro J.J. Taylor in one red-zone 11-on-11 period. The fourth-round pick took a handoff & a toss from Hoyer & had a nice blitz pickup — a necessary skill for any young back trying to earn playing time.”
https://twitter.com/32BeatWriters/status/1557088417409802246
Pierre Strong repping over J.J. Taylor in red-zone 11-on-11s. Starting to gain some momentum after his delayed start to camp.

Cleveland Browns
Jerome Ford
I said from the day Jerome Ford was drafted, he holds the key as to which RB the Browns choose to trade, if there’s interest. If Ford stays healthy and proves he can be a third-down back, Hunt may get his wish if a team comes calling. Won’t happen until September, IMO.

Arizona Cardinals
Keaontay Ingram
Kingsbury on rookie RB Keaontay Ingram – “I thought (he) did a nice job when he had his opportunities to either run it (or) catch it. He’s a big, physical back and has played in similar systems, so that was good to see.”
https://twitter.com/32BeatWriters/status/1557095152958771200
Las Vegas Raiders
Zamir White
“… it’s clear [Zamir] White is the closest to pushing [Josh] Jacobs for his role as the lead back … Whether White earns a starting role this year or not, he’ll help keep Jacobs, who’s also dealt with plenty of injuries, fresh.”
https://twitter.com/SmolaDS/status/1556972834483830784
Pittsburgh Steelers
Jaylen Warren
Rookie RB Jaylen Warren just burst out for 25 yards in a team run period. Took four guys to bring him down. He’s continued to have a good camp.
https://twitter.com/bepryor/status/1557029845456011265
Jaylen Warren with the run of camp, pinballs into the secondary with some wiggle. Took four DBs to get him on the ground after a 20-yard run.

George Pickens
Another George Pickens play. This a 24-yd TD from Mitch on a post route beating Sutton/Edmunds
https://twitter.com/C_AdamskiTrib/status/1557043962229276672
George Pickens makes spiraling catch against Cam Sutton back to back reps in 1v1. Danced on him after each grab. Pickens has A+ body control and tracking of the football.
https://twitter.com/Alex_Kozora/status/1557028144426647552
I don’t wanna say the George Pickens hype train has left the station and just might be running off the proverbial rails… but I heard a former player say he “reminds me of Randy Moss” today

New England Patriots
Tyquan Thornton
Another positive note for the Patriots offense: thought this was Tyquan Thornton’s best practice. Smoked Mitchell/Butler in 1s, caught two passes in front of Jack Jones in late 11s period. Gotta respect that speed.
https://twitter.com/ezlazar/status/1556765478189760514
Tyquan Thornton has DBs looking high and low for him today, but no one can see him. Snapping off routes like crazy. And when he gets the separation…forget it. Gets better every day.
https://twitter.com/kdthompson5/status/1556748767759671297
“He’s improved…he’s picked things up. He’s smart.” Bill Belichick on Tyquan Thornton, adding (of course) there’s a lot he can improve on. #Patriots rookie WR has shown up daily and is a natural hands catcher.

Green Bay Packers
Romeo Doubs
Stop me if you’ve heard this. Romeo Doubs touchdown. This time from Love who has perfected the back corner end zone throw. He’s hit multiple of those throws in camp. Pretty ball and execution from 10. Doubs beat Douglas.

Tennessee Titans
Treylon Burks
This was after the 1st day of camp where Treylon Burks made a diving catch on a pass from Ryan Tannehill. Burks is getting his share of reps w/Tannehill during both team and 7v7. He is also getting reps with Logan Woodside and Malik Willis. So far, the Titans are pleased w/him.

Mekhi Becton
OT Mekhi Becton suffered an avulsion fracture of the kneecap, sources tell me and Ian Rapoport. He will see a surgeon tomorrow, but lithe expectation is he’s out for the season.

Cleveland Browns
Jakeem Grant
Per source, fear that Browns WR Jakeem Grant might have suffered a serious Achilles injury in practice today. Grant was having a terrific camp out of the slot and returning kicks/punts. Would be a huge blow
