We have been working on a ton; I’m semi-exhausted typing this but it’s also makes me so happy to be doing so. Below I am going to try and break down everything we will be adding and what the importance of it is. And more importantly, we are absolutely not going to be changing subscription cost due to these updates. We can’t put an exact timeline on when these all will come live but we will update you as they do but wanted to share a brief update on all the changes.
Have you connected to our Subscriber Only Discord?
If not, you should! Go under “Account” and click the “Connect with Discord” button. We hope to see you in there!
Beat Writer Corner
A place that we will be building out for all the beat writers that we work directly with. This will feature all their insight, their podcast, their website, etc. We really want a place to highlight the community. You can also rest assured that if we are working with them that we have vetted them and they are a reliable source for accurate (as accurate as one can be) information. No need for a rating system or anything like that as we know who we can trust and can’t from years of working with them. And we will always filter that info for our users to the best of our ability.
Subscriber Poll
Please don’t forget to fill out the poll on your home page so that we can get some feedback on your current experience and let us know what features you want to see moving forward that would help you out.
Upcoming Features
New Site Layout
The site will look and feel similar to traditional sports and fantasy websites – minus a lot of the clutter. Think ESPN, FantasyPros, etc. We want the user to have a flawless and seamless experience when navigating. This will also lead to significant upgrades in mobile optimization.
New User Management System
Every user will have their own dedicated home page when they log in. No more hybrid model like we currently have. On this page there will be a host of features some you know now “My Players” and some I will detail as you read below.
New Player Pages
Pages will now have a slew of valuable info on them, look better and just be all around more informative. News will now be tracked by year so you can always go back and look at historical info. There will also be a video section under each player so you can go back and watch your favorite highlights from camps.
32BeatWriters App and Email Notifications
Yes, it’ll finally be here. You’ll be able to get notifications for new articles, players news, etc right on your iOS and/or Android phone. Additionally we will have a way for users to opt in to email notifications for when new info is published.
“Your Players” Update
This section will now auto-sort by most recent and give you the last three updates on your player.
New News Feed
There will be a 12-15 slot updated news blog section with the latest news from the beat writers.
Subscription Only Podcasts
We will be committed to bringing you a weekly podcast where the team reviews the weekly news as well as daily ones for any article that warrants it. Don’t have time to read all the news from rookie camp? No worries, listen to the summary as you drive home.
Fantasy Football Rankings
This might matter to some, it might not. But each week Matt will post his fantasy football player rankings. This should lead to some good discussion on Discord.
Newly Mentioned Section
You may have seen this framework already built out. Essentially what this will be is a spot when we see a beat writer talk about a player that hasn’t been previously mentioned but doesn’t warranty a player page yet. As they gain steam we will either make a page for them or just move on. But we want you all to have eyes on these players first.
Twitter Feed On It’s Own Page
We’ve gotten a few emails about how people hate Twitter. The reality is that Twitter is still the hub for sports news and the primary platform for the beat and analysts. We want to do what we can to offer the same experience but on our site. Look for the feed but also look for more timely updates from our staff. We may never be Adam Schefter but we will do what we can to get you the news.
Weekly and Yearly Betting Lines
We will partner with a sportsbook (TBD but may rhyme with Funder Fog) to bring you info about every player’s projected Vegas stat line and ADPs. This is not to get you to bet, it’s for you to have the info needed to make better decisions. Which leads to the next feature…
Weekly Player Projections Based Off Vegas Lines
This is one of the methods I use when ranking players. So we are going to take these projections and spit them out in fantasy points so that you can see what the mean points Vegas expects your players to score. This is ultra helpful when trying to make lineup decisions.
Thanks to all of you for your continued support and we look forward to bringing you all of this and more as we continue to grow and expand. If you aren’t a member make sure to sign up so you can join us along the way!
