Ravens – Hayden Hurst on Lamar Jackson: “What I’m seeing out there – that’s not a running back. He’s an incredible quarterback that makes really good decisions and really impressive throws.” Marquise Brown looked very quick and fast today. He’s progressing well.
Bills – Rough day again for Josh Allen. For the third day in a row, he threw an interception after the ball was tipped at the line of scrimmage, which is odd habit for a 6’5 QB. The wide receiver group is definitely showing signs of separation from the top end to the bottom. John Brown, Cole Beasley, Zay Jones, Andre Roberts, Robert Foster, and Ray-Ray McCloud are the only ones getting first team reps and all are out there on a regular rotation. Everyone else is behind them
Panthers – Terry Godwin and Aldrick Robinson were making cases for themselves in one-on-ones. DJ Moore had a couple really nice catches today. Cam Newton sat out, so Kyle Allen and Will Grier split first team work.
Bears – Riley Ridley (hamstring) missed his 5th consecutive practice. During goal-to-go work, Cordarrelle Patterson received a carry inside the 5 yard line on a nifty misdirection play. Javon Wims is having a heluva camp once again. Mike Davis continue to impress.
Browns – Antonio Callaway had his best day. He had shown up to camp out of shape, which explains his lack of first team reps.
Broncos – Signed Theo Riddick
Packers – Aaron Jones sat out again today with hamstring tightness. A hamstring injury wiped out much of his camp last year. Jamaal Williams also out with a hamstring injury. Dexter Williams got a lot of reps today. Behind him, it meant more reps for Corey Grant and Darrin Hall too. MVS continues to work on his chemistry with Aaron Rodgers. It’s not there yet.
Texans – Karan Higdon had a nice catch and dive into the end zone. He’s started to gain some traction the past few days. Keke Coutee is having a good camp as he looks to build on a solid rookie year.
Colts – TY Hilton is back and had a monster day. Mo Alie-Cox and Nyheim Hines showed out with the second team offense. Maurice Fountain had the play of the day. He’s been flashing his potential, but needs to be more consistent. Jack Doyle is dealing with a minor oblique injury, but it’s not a major concern to Doyle or Frank Reich.
Jaguars – Nick Foles deep balls have been a thing of beauty, rarely causing the WR to break stride. Josh Oliver left practice today.
Dolphins – Preston Williams isn’t standing out as much as he did in the Spring, but he’s still been working in with the first and second team. He put one defender in the spin cycle today before catching a bullet from Josh Rosen. The three WRs that have developed the most chemistry with Ryan Fitzpatrick – Devante Parker, Kenny Stills, and Isaiah Ford. Ford has been working with Fitz after practice every day. Nick O’Leary has been the best TE in training camp.
Vikings – Kirk Cousins on Chad Beebe – “Chad Beebe is another guy who I just think will make a major difference for our offense this year.”
Patriots – Belichick on Josh Gordon – “We have nothing to do with Josh Gordon. He’s suspended. You’d have to talk to the league.” Lance Kendricks didn’t practice. Jakobi Meyers, the UDFA WR from NC State, received a lot of first team work today and looked very good. N’Keal Harry had a bounce back day as far as getting open and not committing any drops, but several of his targets were off the mark. Starting WRs during the first competitive 11-on-11 period were Philip Dorsett, Braxton Berrios, and Jakobi Meyers. Sony Michel was split out wide a lot today, which lends to the notion that he’ll be more invovled in the pass game. Michel also got increased work today after missing most of the offseason practices and the first few days of TC practices. He was moving well.
Saints – Latavius Murray was back at practice. Emmanuel Butler and Alize Mack sat out. Austin Carr made two good catches in a row then Ted Ginn made a nice contested catch. Sean Payton specifically pointed out Dwayne Washington as a guy that has stood out to him.
Jets – Sam Darnold had another outstanding day: 11/15 with a TD in 11-on-11s. Two of the incompletions were drops. Le’Veon Bell had a very good day. Robby Anderson showed out, making plays in short and intermediate zones.
Eagles – Carson Wentz looked human for the first time all camp. Jordan Howard can catch. He made a nice catch over an LB on a wheel route. JJAW made a nice catch in the endzone where he outjumped a CB. “Miles Sanders carries just have more juice than the rest of the Eagles running back. Feels like he can make a play every time.” Towards the end of practice, Sanders had an injury scare with his foot, but he shook it off and should be fine.
Chargers – Melvin Gordon’s agent has requested a trade. Big things are expected for Mike Williams and he’s had an excellent camp.
Seahawks – Russell Wilson makes sure he’s throwing the ball when it’s DK Metcalf’s turn through the line as they continue to work on their chemistry.
Titans – Corey Davis keeps showing off. One play in particular stood out – Ryan Tannehill tried to throw it away during goal line team period. Davis skied over Jayon Brown, Adoree Jackson, Malcolm Butler to snap it out of the air w/one hand and get BOTH feet in bounds.
Redskins – Kelvin Harmon has seeked out both Josh Norman and DRC after practice to pick their brains about how to beat certain press coverage.
